This book covers the Django Framework from basics to the advanced topics. The book has been structured according to the syllabus of the Skill Enhancement Course (SEC) at the University of Delhi, aligning with the guidelines of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Lesson 1 walks you through the basic requirements such installing Python and Django, creating virtual environments, and building your first Django Project. Lesson 2 discusses how everything fits together, that is the Django's structure, both in terms of projects and apps. Lesson 3 includes how to map URLs to views, process requests, and handle dynamic paths. Lesson 4 is about templates, and how to render dynamic content using Django Template Language. Lesson 5 guides you through interacting with databases, from understanding data to creating databases using Django Models. Lesson 6 introduces Django administration. Lesson 7 covers wrapper functions, authentication, and permissions. Finally, Lesson 8 covers deployment and automating tasks, while Lesson 9 discusses how to build web APIs using REST. About the Authors Sunita Narang is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science, Acharya Narendra Dev College, University of Delhi. She completed Masters of Computer Applications from Jawaharlal Nehru University in 1997. She was awarded Teaching Excellence award for Innovation for one of the DU Innovation projects in May 2015. Mahesh Kumar is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College, University of Delhi. Before ARSD, he has also worked as an Assistant Professor at Acharya Narendra Dev College, University of Delhi (2019–2023) and as a Faculty Member in the Faculty of Science and Technology, ICFAI University Dehradun (2010–2016).
