Diamonds in the Blue

The present book focuses on three novelists – Jahnavi Barua, Kiran Desai, Prakash Joshi – who have captivated readers worldwide through their storytelling, style, and literary depth, yet have received comparatively limited critical attention. These novelists have been arranged based on the number of novels they have written to date and in reverse order of their age-wise seniority. The book begins with Jahnavi Barua, the youngest of the three, whose literary output is considered first. She is followed by Kiran Desai, who, in her early fifties, has authored two novels. The third is Prakash Joshi, the senior-most in both age and literary contribution; currently in his seventies, he has written nine novels to date. It is hoped that readers will appreciate this juxtaposition.
