About the book
In Bahadurpura, Hyderabad, on the day of Holi, an argument takes place in between the procession which results in a riot, killing the Hindus participating in the procession. In another part of the city, in Brindavan Colony, a man in his thirties named Rahmat Hussain is shocked by this terrible news. He is a man of secular thoughts and hates violence. He lives with his family—wife Shehnaaz and two children Rukhsaar and Nasir. Rukhsaar is 16 and Nasir is 11. They’re happy in their lives and enjoy the peaceful environment prevailing in the colony. A group of almost five hundred men belonging to a local party attack Brindavan Colony and kill all the Muslims. Rahmat and his family succeed in escaping the death but only on the cost of Nasir, who gets lost in the riot. Rukhsaar is hopeful of reunion with her brother, and hence begins the search for him.
