KUJ NYISHI AGAM CHINGNYA TUJ (Let's Learn Nyishi Language)

The Nyishi community did not have their own script. However, a few individuals had started writing Nyishi language using Roman script in the year 1857and 1899.Over the years, in the year 2012, Nyishi Elite Society (NES) an apex umbrella organization of Nyishi Community accepted and adopted the recommendation of Nyishi Language Committee constituted by NES representing members drawn from various stakeholders of Nyishi community. The language committee recommended for use of Roman script with seven vowels, nineteen consonants, two clusters and glottal. The language committee also recommended for use of Mengio variety (accent/pronunciation) of Nyishi Language to have uniformity in academic writings. The Nyishi Language is spoken in seven districts of Arunachal Pradesh i.e , Papumpare, Keyi Panyor, Kamle, Kra Dadi, Kurung Kumey, Pakke Kessang and East Kameng including some parts of Assam.
