Life in Colours

“Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotions recollected in tranquillity.” ------ -William Wordsworth. I feel my tranquil moments privileged me to have an eye to observe and peep into the real experiences of life and pour my feelings into words. Life seems to me like rainbow, varied in colours and vibrations. In the present book of poems I have tried to exhibit all those colours of life that identify the human existence. The work is based on my personal experiences, recollections and observation of my surroundings. This anthology – Life in Colours -consists of 30 poems based on the concepts of Divinity, life, ideas, emotions and particular traits of people. This is my first venture into the field of composition of verse. The poems in this collection reflect the quiet beauty of everyday emotions, human relationships, hope, and self-discovery. Through heartfelt verses, I have tried to connect with readers and give voice to feelings that are often left unsaid. This collection is an important step in my literary journey, with the hope that each poem offers comfort, inspiration, and a moment of reflection. About the Writer Dr. Ruchi Malaviya, born and brought up in a simple Brahmin family of Allahabad, graduated from S.S. Khanna Girls' Degree College. She obtained her postgraduate degree from the University of Allahabad and subsequently earned the D.Phil. degree from the same university, specializing in the poetry of William Wordsworth under the supervision of Prof. M.C. Joshi, former Head of the Department of English and other European Languages. She has eighteen years of teaching experience. At present she has been teaching as Assistant Professor in the Department of English at S.S. Khanna Girls Degree College, Prayagraj. She has been actively involved in various college committees throughout her academic career.
