About the book
Abhimanyu is a straightforward and courageous lad, living in a politically volatile state. Like so many other Assamese youths, he too is unemployed. Full of anger against the corrupt and disorderly socio-political system, Abhimanyu wants to take on the system itself. However, he is a law-abiding citizen and so he restrains himself. He also criticizes his friend Apurba, a leader of the banned outfit United Liberation Front of Asom, for the extremist activities. But circumstances put Abhimanyu in a situation where he is projected as a social deviant. Corrupt cops make false case against him in order to save their own skins. Eventually Abhimanyu gets involved in the political game. He becomes a darling of his people in the process. He makes a concrete plan to end the militancy in the state and also to address the dissatisfaction of the people. It is a saga of an insurgency-affected people and of unscrupulous politicians. Narrated in the new novel style, this fiction is set in the backdrop of erstwhile disturbances in Assam. It keeps you glued till the end. Can Abhimanyu and his group keep the promises they made to the people? There is violence, political manipulations, socio-cultural conflicts in the novel.
