Singing for Life (Poems)

In his introduction to Singing for Life , Dr. Shashi Tharoor writes: “…Poems by Vijay Kumar Parameswaran are examples of the poet’s art, marked by a deep philosophical strain, dwelling on the themes of life, death, love, illness and the art of poetry itself…. These are poems written about us, for you and me…The poems reflect an undercurrent of solitude and silence which draws the reader into making his or her own observations and thoughts. Many of the pieces are crafted with a combination of soulful imagery and complex ideas draped in soft diction, creating a unique and pleasing style. There is clear delineation and progression of ideas and thoughts and that serves to clear initial ambiguities into a stunning and enlightening realization… Singing for Life marks the arrival of a major talent. … His future endeavours which given the potential he reveals through this work should one day place him on a high pedestal among Indian Poets who write in English.”
