About the book

The plot of the Novel revolves round an extremely honest female character, much deprived and neglected by the hostility and unfairness of fate. She was perfectly green and unsophisticated as nature. Her circumstances were so terribly constricted that she couldn’t dare the luxury of any dream. She had but a single commitment to herself. Martha, her husband died in a tragic accident, when she was yet in her early twenties and their only child Martha Junior was yet a baby, two years in age. Her only ambition was to protect and guide him to decent manhood. She continued as a forced liability with Jose, Martha’s younger brother. She had to pay heavily for her dependence. Fortune began to smile on her, almost surprisingly. She proved herself a worthy, honest and selfless people’s representative. She climbed the stairs of political, hierarchy effortlessly and rapidly and was held as an icon of honesty and an undisputed reformer of noble politics. She was projected as a model of ideal people’s representative. She guarded herself against humane errors, but yet she was a fallible human, pitiably exposed to the vagaries and the feline tricks of a perpetually scheming destiny. The readers are welcome to witness her uphill journey.
