TREE WITH LOVE BLOSSOMS (Translated from Malayalam to English)

The Holy Bible has been a source for several great storytellers across the world including Thomas Mann, Nikos Kazantzakis, and Jose Saramago. Here is an addition to that growing collection of Bible-based fiction, written in Malayalam by Vinayasree and ably translated by Dr. Molly Joseph. The novel rereads the tale of Bethsheba used by her greedy husband to seduce King David, in order to develop a critique of power from a woman's perspective in our time. Here is a lyrical novel in an equally lyrical translation that is sure to hold the attention of the reader. -------- K Satchidanandan
