Biography

Prof. R. Pratibha is an accomplished scholar and academic specialising in Advaita Vedanta, Indian Philosophy and Religious Studies. She currently serves as Associate Director and Convenor, Department of Vedanta, Central Sanskrit University, Guruvayoor Campus. She holds a Ph.D. from Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi, awarded in 2002. She has an academic and teaching experience spanning 39 years since 1987. Her scholarly interests are centered on the philosophical traditions of Advaita Vedanta, with particular engagement with questions of metaphysics, epistemology, liberation, devotional thought and the interpretation of foundational Vedantic texts. Her research reflects an interdisciplinary engagement with Indian philosophical traditions and their contemporary relevance. She has demonstrated proficiency in Sanskrit, Malayalam, Hindi, English and Tamil. Prof. Pratibha has authored and edited several scholarly works, including Hastamalakastotram, Siddhantabindusiddhantasarah, Advaitasiddhantaprameyah and Prasthanatraya Vimarshah, besides editing works such as Advaita Sugandha and Advaita Ratnamala. Her publications address significant themes in Advaita Vedanta, including the nature of reality, creation, knowledge and action, theories of cognition, bhakti and moksha, and the philosophical interpretations of Shankaracharya and other Vedantic scholars. She has actively contributed to national and international seminars, conferences and academic workshops, both as a paper presenter and as a session chair. Her academic engagements include presentations on Advaita Vedanta and other schools of philosophy, Jagatsrishtivichara, the Prasthanatraya, Upanishadic thought, Bhakti and Moksha, and the contemporary relevance of Advaita Vedanta. She has also participated in major scholarly forums including the 19th World Sanskrit Conference in Nepal, the All India Oriental Conference, and international seminars on Sanskrit and Indian knowledge systems. With her extensive experience in Sanskrit scholarship, Advaita Vedanta and Indian philosophical traditions, Prof. Pratibha brings substantial academic expertise to the study, interpretation and contemporary dissemination of India's intellectual and knowledge traditions.
