Every submission is checked for citation integrity before it reaches review: each DOI cited in the manuscript is resolved against Crossref, so a citation that does not exist - whether a typo or a fabricated reference - is surfaced to the handling editor. Manuscripts are also read for originality by the editor and by reviewers as part of the normal review process.
Authors are expected to run their own similarity check before submitting (see the submission checklist). Chirantan is in the process of adding automated textual-similarity screening through Crossref Similarity Check; until that is in place the journal does not claim to run one, and no similarity threshold is applied to submissions.
Submissions must be original and not under consideration elsewhere; simultaneous submission to another journal during Chirantan's review process is treated as misconduct. Duplicate publication, data fabrication or plagiarism can result in rejection or, for a published article, retraction - whether it is detected by software, by a reviewer, by an editor, or reported after publication.
