Abstract
Gender discrimination is a global phenomenon. We have seen that though women constitute half of the world's population, for a long time, women's voices and rights were taken for granted. Rita Dove and Meena Alexander are concerned about “Her-story” or women- centered stories. As female writers, they depict vivid pictures of women- mind and body and present the world as experienced by a woman, a world of feeling, sacrifice, self-less love, and compassion
