Abstract
W.D. Snodgrass, the American poet was the innovator of the confessional style of writing. The present paper discusses the search for love and different stages of loss in the anthology Heart's Needle by W.D. Snodgrass. The poems here are about war, alienation from the world and the bitter effects of his broken marriage
