About the book
Words: Yet Unspoken... (2020) is an autobiographical work which covers various episodes of the writer from his infancy to his vocation-finding youth. In addition, the author tries to exhibit the socio-economic-cultural aspects of rural Bengal during the second-half of the last century. He also narrates the unspeakable lock-down-related crises of the poverty-trapped villagers of West Bengal. Presently the Vice-Chancellor of a government-aided University in West Bengal (India), the author did not have a ‘privileged’ childhood and adolescence. Yet he took all the troubles and obstacles in his stride to become a recognised academician and an administrator. In the autobiography, he forwards a subjective overview of the entire process of his growth, unpalatable and enjoyable experiences, and his sorrows and happiness for the readers to perceive and review. Most of the episodes the writer speaks about are hitherto non-documented.
